Jakarta - Chairman of the All Indonesia Football Association Erick Thohir ensured that Indonesia will be a good host for the Bahrain national team when the two teams meet at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium , Jakarta on March 25 or two weeks from now in the eighth match of Group C in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
This was said by Erick when he met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain Ahmed Abdulla Alharmasi Alhajeri in Jakarta, Tuesday.
"Today I met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain - HE Mr. Ahmed Abdulla Alharmasi Alhajeri. We discussed the preparation of the Bahrain National Team which will play in Indonesia on March 25," said Erick in a post from his official Instagram, Tuesday.
"We at PSSI ensure that we will be good hosts when the Bahrain National Team competes at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium," he added.
Erick said Indonesia would be a good host for Bahrain, as they did when they hosted Japan and Saudi Arabia in November last year.
In those two matches, Indonesia lost 0-4 to Japan and then won 2-0 over Saudi Arabia.
"We as a great nation have also shown that we can be good hosts during the home matches against Saudi Arabia and Japan previously," he explained.
As a good host, Erick said, he wants Indonesia to be a friendly, safe and comfortable place for visiting team fans from any country.
