PLN provides 1,000 SPKLU on Trans-Java and Sumatra homecoming routes

Jakarta - PT PLN is providing 1,000 public electric vehicle charging stations at 615 locations on the Trans-Java and Trans-Sumatra Toll Road homecoming routes.

PLN Distribution Director Adi Priyanto said that customers using electric cars during the 2025 Eid homecoming are expected to continue to increase by up to 500 percent.

Therefore, PLN is committed to providing SPKLU infrastructure along the homecoming route up to 7.5 times from the previous year, especially in areas with high occupancy.

"Well, this is specifically for the additional SPKLU along Java-Sumatra, there are 1,000 (units) in 615 locations. In addition, if there is an emergency condition, we will also increase the number of mobile SPKLU," said Adi in a press conference on "Energy Supply Readiness for Eid 2025" in Jakarta, Thursday.

Adi explained that PLN also provides SPKLU on non-toll roads to serve travelers using electric vehicles. The distance between SPKLU is around 23 kilometers.

The total SPKLU provided by PLN and partners reached 3,558 units located in 2,412 locations.
