Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Nephrology Association Dr. Pringgodigdo Nugroho said that not getting into the habit of drinking water for a long period of time risks causing kidney disease.
"It can (cause kidney disease) but not directly because in the long term it is usually due to chronic fluid deficiency," said Pringgodigdo when met at the World Kidney Day 2025 press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Pringgodigdo explained that severe fluid deficiency can gradually disrupt kidney function. Kidney diseases related to fluid deficiency include infections that cause inflammation and kidney stones.
