Jayapura - PT. Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia has prepared eight fleets of ships to serve passengers returning home for Eid 1446 Hijri/2025 AD in Jayapura Papua.
Head of Pelni Jayapura Branch Nurul Azhar in Jayapura, Friday said the peak season for the 2025 Eid homecoming will start from March 16 to April 16 this year so that eight passenger ship fleets are prepared.
"We ensure that all eight ships in the fleet are seaworthy so that none need to be docked or maintained," he said.
Regarding tickets, according to Nurul, sales for the 2025 Eid homecoming are still low and not very significant.
"We predict that there may be a spike when THR (holiday allowance) payments are usually only just visible," he said.
He explained that despite the conditions, he continued to appeal to prospective passengers to buy tickets on the day of departure and buy tickets through the official Pelni website or sales location.
"Currently, prospective passengers can order tickets via the application or travel agents, so they don't have to visit the Pelni office. This is expected to make it easier for people to get tickets with a definite schedule," he said.
