PCO: President improves farmers' welfare through rice price of Rp. 6,500/kg





Jakarta - Presidential Communication Office spokesperson Prita Laura said that President Prabowo Subianto is committed to improving the welfare of farmers through the government purchase price of farmer's grain of IDR 6,500 per kilogram .

"So the commitment of the President and the Vice President, one form of strengthening is the purchase of rice at a price of Rp6,500 (per kg), what is the purpose? To ensure rice reserves, the second purpose that is most pleasant to hear for all farmers is to improve the welfare of farmers," said Prita in Klaten, Saturday.

Prita conveyed this while attending a mass harvest carried out by a farmer group in Sumber Village, Trucuk District, Klaten Regency, Central Java. The harvest was purchased directly by Perum Bulog at a price of Rp6,500 per kg. So far, farmers' rice in the Trucuk area has only been purchased for Rp3,500/kilogram by middlemen.

The man conveyed the commitment of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to the food and agriculture program which is a top priority in the government.

He said that the government included food and agriculture into three main priorities, namely the best results which means it must be fast, secondly prioritizing priority programs which means it must be prioritized, and thirdly as Asta Cita or ideals to lead Indonesia for the next five years with a focus on the agricultural sector.

In addition to the policy of purchasing rice at a price of IDR 6,500 per kilogram to ensure rice reserves and improve the welfare of farmers throughout Indonesia, farmer regeneration is also a major concern for the government.
