Jakarta - The Ministry of Industry has proposed three policies to strengthen the utility or competitiveness of the coconut processing industry because this sector is facing problems with the supply of raw materials which have caused a decline in productivity.
Director General of Agro Industry of the Ministry of Industry Putu Juli Ardika in Jakarta, Sunday submitted three proposals for the management, namely the implementation of a levy (moratorium) on exports of whole coconuts, the determination of standard prices for raw materials that are profitable for farmers and industrial entrepreneurs, and the provision of moratorium benefits managed by the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) to farmers.
