Minister of Trade: Oil supervision in traditional markets tightened

Jakarta - The Minister of Trade emphasized that supervision of people's cooking oil or Minyakita in the field, especially in traditional markets, will be tightened.

"Supervision in the field is stricter, especially in traditional markets and secondly, we guarantee that Minyakita will remain available," said Budi after the launch of the 2025 Indonesia Licensing and Franchising Expo at the Ministry of Trade office, Jakarta, Wednesday.

Budi said that there are two forms of supervision carried out by the Ministry of Trade regarding the distribution of Minyakita.

First, supervision of products that are in accordance with the dosage and quality. Next, supervision of the availability of Minyakita at the retailer level.

According to Budi, supervision of this distribution will be further enhanced in order to maintain the availability of supplies for the 2025 Ramadan and Eid period.

"Supervision that products remain available to the public so that people can enjoy Eid safely," he said.

The Minister of Trade also said that Minyakita products that did not comply with the dosage had been withdrawn from the market.

The Ministry of Trade together with the Indonesian Police Food Task Force (Satgas) have conducted checks on rogue producers who reduce the contents of Minyakita, and have closed down these factories.

"If we find it, it means it is indeed violating the rules, so it must be withdrawn. So we, the supervisory team, the Police Food Task Force, are on the move every day, whether it is in traditional markets or existing repackages ," said Budi.

Previously, the Director General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order at the Ministry of Trade, Moga Simatupang, emphasized that all people's cooking oil (MGR) or Minyakita products that do not comply with the provisions will be withdrawn from the market.
