Minister of Human Rights confirms militarism is highly unlikely to occur at this time

Jakarta - Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai emphasized that militarism like during the New Order era is very unlikely to occur today.

"Why is it impossible? Because the current government is a civil government," said Pigai in a press conference at the Ministry of Human Rights Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/3).

He explained that the civil government was related to President Prabowo Subianto who founded a political party, which in the 2024 Election became one of the winners of the most votes through the democratic process.

"President Prabowo Subianto was also elected through a democratic process. There is a dynamic of the right to vote, there is a dynamic of the right to take a part of government ," he said.
