Jakarta - Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid supports the increase in Low Earth Orbit satellite industry players in Indonesia, so that it can create healthy competition and provide more choices for the public in accessing connectivity.
Meutya in Jakarta, Friday night, said that her party had received a US LEO satellite player, namely Amazon Kuiper, who expressed interest in enlivening the satellite-based telecommunications industry in Indonesia.
"We also need competition against Starlink, which currently dominates the market and is quite massive. Likewise, if there are local or other countries, local is certainly better. In principle, we also encourage them who want to enter to collaborate with local companies or local cellular operators," he said.
