Jakarta - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia stated that from March 25 to March 30, 2025, the Merak commuter train service will only operate to Cilegon Station.
"This adjustment is made to anticipate the surge in travelers who will enter Merak Port so that it is expected to reduce the potential for congestion," said VP Corporate Secretary KAI Commuter, Joni Martinus, in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.
According to Joni, this service adjustment refers to the Joint Decree (SKB) from the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Indonesian Police Traffic Corps, and Directorate General of Highways.
"We also received direction from the Directorate of Traffic and Railway Transportation, Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transportation to make this adjustment," he added.
For passengers heading to Krenceng and Merak Stations, KCI has prepared a further transportation service from Cilegon Station. A total of 20 cars are prepared to take passengers to Merak Station, and five cars to Krenceng Station.
