Badung - PT. Jasamarga Bali Tol as the manager of the Bali Mandara Toll Road stated that it will temporarily close the access operation for 32 hours in the context of the Holy Day of Nyepi on March 29, 2025.
"The toll road closure will be carried out starting Friday (28/3) at 23.00 WITA until Sunday (30/3) at 07.00 WITA," said Finance Director of PT Jasamarga Bali Tol I Wayan Eka Saputra in Badung Regency, Bali, Friday.
The closure, he added, was a form of respect for the Holy Day of Nyepi which is expected to support the implementation of religious holidays solemnly and meaningfully.
Even though it is closed to the public, he said the toll road can still be used for emergency purposes, such as fire engines, ambulances, and other critical operational vehicles with assistance from the pecalang or related agencies.
"Therefore, during the closure period, toll officers remain on standby to ensure that services continue to run in accordance with established operational standards," said Wayan.
Bali Mandara Toll Road Management explained that they are also preparing a strategy to anticipate a spike in traffic volume during the long holiday of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri which coincides with the Nyepi celebration.
As a proactive step, PT JBT will form the Jasamarga Bali Toll Road Task Force for Idul Fitri 1446 H/Lebaran 2025 with service optimization that will take place from D-10 of Lebaran 2025 on March 21 to D+10 on April 11, 2025.
"The peak traffic flow is estimated to occur on Friday, April 4, 2025 with 52,830 vehicles predicted to pass through the Bali Mandara Toll Road," he said.
Operation & Maintenance Manager of PT JBT I Putu Gandi Ginantra added that although the Bali Mandara Toll Road is not the main homecoming route, the spike in tourist mobility during the long holiday remains a major concern.
Therefore, the team formed a task force that focuses on optimizing operational services to create a safe, comfortable and smooth journey for all toll road users.
