Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia or KAI has added 362 long-distance train trips with an average of 16 additional trips per day to anticipate the spike in the number of passengers during the 2025 Eid homecoming flow.
"To anticipate the surge in the number of homecoming travelers, Daop 1 Jakarta is operating 362 additional train trips, with a total capacity of 182,620 seats. Of this number, Gambir Station serves 242 additional train trips, while Pasar Senen Station serves 120 additional train trips," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Operation Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta Ixfan Hendriwintoko in Jakarta, Friday.
He said that this additional trip was also followed by an increase in seating capacity (TD) of 182,620 seats, or around 8,301 seats per day.
This addition aims to provide more flexibility for the public, especially those departing from two main stations, namely Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station.
At Gambir Station, there are 242 additional trips with an average of 11 trips per day. The available seating capacity reaches 117,436 seats, or around 5,338 seats per day.
Meanwhile, Pasar Senen Station added 120 trips, with an average of 5 trips per day and an additional seating capacity of 65,184 seats, or around 2,963 seats per day.
