Jakarta - Director of Development of PT Indonesia Stock Exchange Jeffrey Hendrik revealed that there were 780,000 new investors in the Indonesian capital market throughout the year until the period of March 2025.
Thus, until now the total number of Indonesian capital market investors has reached 15.6 million Single Investor Identification (SID).
"We believe that the capital market can play an active role in achieving Indonesia's economic growth target of up to eight percent by 2029," said Jeffrey at the BEI Main Hall, Jakarta, Friday.
On this occasion, he said that the Indonesian capital market has the potential to contribute up to 61 percent through fundraising activities, from additional investment needs over the next five years, which is estimated at IDR 14,000 trillion.
The party is targeting direct contributions through fundraising to reach IDR 1,500 trillion over the next five years, through initiatives such as the Lighthouse Company Initial Public Offering (IPO) , public offerings of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and efficiency of the Right Issue process.
Meanwhile, the party is targeting indirect contributions through increasing the valuation of listed companies that provide leverage for funding through debt, which will reach IDR 6,800 trillion.
