IBL referees now announce decisions over loudspeakers after IRS checks

Jakarta - The management of the Indonesian Basketball League has made a new innovation since the seventh week of the competition, through a policy regarding referees who now announce decisions via loudspeaker, after checking the Instant Replay System (IRS) in each match.

On the IBL page quoted in Jakarta, Thursday, the policy aims to ensure that every player, coach, official of both competing teams, and spectators can together hear for themselves what the referee decides after checking the IRS.

So far, spectators and other parties from both teams have to wait for the match announcer when the referee reports the decision taken.

However, now the referee himself will announce the decision, so that not only the audience in the arena will hear it, but the audience on the live broadcast via IBL TV will also hear what the referee says.

The organizers said that this innovation had been awaited by many parties, because it could further increase the referee's confidence in announcing decisions.

In addition, the audience can also be more confident and educated by the referee when making a decision.
