Hutama Karya: Padang-Sicincin Toll Road can only be used by class I vehicles

Padang - Executive Vice President Secretary of PT Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said that the 35.90 kilometer Padang-Pekanbaru Toll Road Section of Padang-Sicincin can only be passed by vehicles included in class I during the homecoming and return flow of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah.

"The functional toll road is only intended for class I vehicles (non-buses) such as private cars and other small vehicles with a maximum speed of 40 kilometers/hour," said Executive Vice President Secretary of PT Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim in Padang, Saturday.

Meanwhile, heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses and vehicles that are not class I are not allowed to pass during the operating period, namely from March 24 to April 10, 2025 every day from 08.00-17.00 WIB.

Unlike the trial operation during the Christmas and New Year holidays in 2025, the opening of the Padang-Sicincin Toll Section for the 2025 Eid holiday will be implemented in two directions. This means that people or drivers from Padang City and vice versa can enjoy the toll road on both lanes without traffic engineering.

"For the Pekanbaru-Padang Toll Road, the Padang-Sicincin Section will implement a two-way scheme both from Padang to Sicincin and vice versa," he explained.

In addition to the Padang-Sicincin Section, Hutama Karya also functionally operates the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 1 Seulimeum-Padang Tiji (23.95 kilometers), and the Palembang-Betung Toll Road Section 2 Rengas/Musi Landas-Pangkalan Balai (30.67 kilometers).

The operation of the three toll roads is a strategic step to anticipate the surge in vehicle volume which is predicted to increase significantly during the 2025 Eid homecoming and return period. The three toll roads will be opened based on police discretion to ensure the safety and comfort of road users during their operation.
