Hong Kong visitor numbers up 7 percent in first two months of 2025


Hong Kong - Hong Kong recorded 8.4 million visitor arrivals in the first two months of this year, up 7 percent year- on-year , according to published data from the Hong Kong Tourism Board ( HKTB ).

Of the total, around 6.5 million visitor arrivals came from Mainland China, up 4 percent (yoy). Visitor arrivals from elsewhere also jumped significantly, reaching 1.91 million and registering a 20 percent (yoy) increase, HKTB data showed.

The short -haul market performed particularly well, with 1.13 million visitor arrivals recorded during the months under review, up 26 percent. In particular, visitors from the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea all increased by more than 30 percent.
