Jakarta - The German national team managed to bring home a 2-1 victory when visiting Italy's home ground in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals at the San Siro Stadium on Friday morning WIB.
Having fallen behind to Sandro Tonali's goal, Germany came back in the second half and won thanks to goals from Tim Kleindienst and Leon Goretzka.
The second leg match will be held at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, Germany next Monday (24/3).
Italy opened the scoring in the 9th minute. The goal came from Matteo Politano's pull-back pass from the right side. The ball was cleared by the German defender and went to Tonali who immediately fired a shot into the goal. The score was 1-0 for the hosts.
