Gorontalo Regency - Gorontalo Governor Gusnar Ismail welcomed Wings Air airlines returning to operations at Djalaluddin Gorontalo Airport after having stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was reported that Wings Air reopened the Manado-Gorontalo-Palu flight route by making Wings Air's inaugural landing at Djalaluddin Airport, Gorontalo Regency, Friday (21/03/2025).
"We are grateful and thankful for the success of the first landing of Wings Air at Djalaluddin Airport. Why do I say continuation? Because so far Wings Air has routinely flown to Gorontalo, but because at that time there was a COVID-19 pandemic, the management also adjusted," said Gusnar.
Gusnar explained that Wings Air flight services connecting three provinces, namely North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, and Central Sulawesi, are a good sign for regional economic development.
The presence of Wings Air, said Gusnar, is expected to provide a double effect or widespread influence on the development of Gorontalo, especially in the tourism sector.
"In my mind, I really want to realize the Manado, Gorontalo, and Togean tourism package. We are currently designing it and the presence of Wings Air will certainly greatly support the flagship program of the Gorontalo Provincial Government in the tourism sector," said Gusnar.
