Jakarta - Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni said carbon trading from the forestry sector will soon be launched as part of efforts to mitigate climate change and accelerate the green economy.
Quoted from his statement in Jakarta, Thursday, the Minister of Forestry said that this program opens up great opportunities for Indonesia to manage natural resources sustainably and provide economic benefits for the community and business actors.
"This step is in line with the Astacita vision promoted by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in realizing a balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability," said Forestry Minister Raja Antoni.
In the initial stage, this carbon trading includes forest management schemes by the private sector (Forest Utilization Business Permit Holders/PBPH) and Social Forestry, with different carbon absorption potentials.
