Jakarta - ExxonMobil Cepu Limited is targeting Indonesia to become the host for petrochemical development in the Asian region, because Asia is expected to become the center of growth for the polymer industry in the next 20-30 years.
"We are looking at Indonesia as one of the places for petrochemical development in the region," said ExxonMobil Cepu Limited VP of Public & Government Affairs Dave A. Seta at a breaking of the fast event in Jakarta, Wednesday night.
That plan is the basis for ExxonMobil to work with the Indonesian government to conduct a study on the opportunities for realizing petrochemical development. Moreover, said Dave, the Asian region is expected to become the center of growth for the polymer industry.
The polymer and petrochemical industries are closely related because most polymers come from raw materials produced by the petrochemical industry.
In addition to dissecting Indonesia's potential to become a petrochemical host, ExxonMobil is also highlighting the business potential of developing a Carbon Capture and Storage center.
