Jakarta - PSSI General Chairman Erick Thohir emphasized that he continues to support the Indonesian National Team following the Garuda squad's poor results when facing Australia in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in Sydney, Thursday.
"I will continue to support the Indonesian National Football Team whether they win or lose. Because I love this nation completely," said Erick in a statement on his Instagram social media account.
Indonesia suffered a crushing 1-5 defeat to hosts Australia at Sydney Stadium on Thursday afternoon WIB. The result saw Patrick Kluivert's team drop to fifth in the Group C standings with six points, while Australia is increasingly solid in second place with ten points.
