Jakarta - The Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation Risal Wasal said that the Free Motorbike Transportation program via train is a transportation solution for the community and part of the government's efforts to reduce traffic accidents during the homecoming period.
"With this program, we hope that the public will choose a safer, more comfortable and more affordable mode of mass transportation," said Risal in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday.
The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation officially released the departure of trains for the 2025 Eid Free Motorbike Homecoming Transportation (Motis) from Pasar Senen Station.
The program is a form of support for programs aimed at reducing the use of motorbikes for long-distance travel and increasing the safety of travelers.
"The Motis program is a government initiative to accommodate the high demand for public travel during the Eid homecoming period by providing free motorbike transportation services using trains," said Risal.
In addition, the program also contributes to reducing the number of traffic accidents by encouraging people to switch to safer and more comfortable modes of mass transportation.
Risal stated that 2025 would be the 11th year of the Motis program since it was first implemented in 2013.
