Jakarta - Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta coach Youbel Sondakh said his team's performance was not yet consistent even though they had just won 99-95 over Tangerang Hawks in the continuation of the 2025 Indonesian Basketball League at Britama Arena, North Jakarta, Wednesday.
"It wasn't consistent because we were leading earlier, at the end we also went down, finally they were able to equalize the score," said Youbel at a post-match press conference on Wednesday.
This victory brought Satria Muda back to winning ways after losing in the previous two matches to RANS Simba Bogor 82-84 and Dewa United Banten 77-85.
However, Youbel viewed his team's performance as not 100 percent perfect because they did not play consistently for four quarters. In the last quarter, Satria Muda's performance declined because they were only able to score 16 points, far from the Hawks who scored their highest points in the last quarter, which was 27 points.
This situation made the game tight in the last quarter. The Hawks, who were previously behind 66-77 in the third quarter, equalized the score to 93-93 in the fourth quarter to continue the game to overtime.
In the fourth quarter, Youbel saw his team's defense was very bad. "The worst thing is definitely the defense," he said.
"In the fourth quarter, we lacked a bit of hustle because our imports were able to score easily. We also got second chances there, so we boxed out and all sorts of things. We didn't really take care of the defense," he added.
Meanwhile, the same thing was also expressed by the best player of the match, Abraham Damar. Abraham who led Satria Muda with 22 points, three rebounds, and four assists, said that in this match his team should have played better, and did not need overtime to secure the victory.
"Credit to Tangerang Hawks. The foreign players played amazingly. And they as a team also really supported their goal makers to be able to maximize their efforts. But yes, a win is a win. Still grateful for today's victory," said the 29-year-old basketball player.
