Jakarta - Dele Alli's first competitive appearance in more than two years ended within 10 minutes when he was sent off as his Como side lost to AC Milan early on Sunday.
The 28-year-old was introduced as an 81st-minute substitute but was sent off in the first minute of added time after a reckless challenge on midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Referee Matteo Marchetti initially showed Alli a yellow card for the challenge, but he later changed it to a red card after a VAR review.
A number of Alli's Como teammates surrounded Marchetti to protest the decision. Milan's Kyle Walker was also seen trying to persuade the referee not to give his former England teammate a red card.
