Jakarta - Real Madrid failed to overthrow Barcelona after being defeated 1-2 by Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin Stadium, Seville, early Sunday WIB.
Madrid took the lead through Brahim Diaz, but Betis turned things around thanks to goals from Johnny Cardoso and Isco, according to La Liga.
Madrid is stuck in second place in the Spanish League standings with 54 points from 26 matches, one point below Barcelona who is at the top of the standings and will only play on Sunday night WIB.
Betis itself rose to sixth position with 38 points from 26 matches or 11 points from the top four zone.
