BWF approves Anthony Ginting's ranking protection

Jakarta - The Badminton World Federation has approved Anthony Sinisuka Ginting's ranking protection request, PBSI said in a written statement on Thursday.

The protection ranking is valid for 3 months from March 25 to June 24, 2025 with a total of 50,155 points,” PBSI said.

PBSI added that the world's 11th-ranked badminton player can only take part in tournaments on or after June 25, 2025.

PBSI filed for ranking protection on March 25, 2025 because Ginting needed more recovery time due to a right shoulder injury.

PBSI's Head of Development and Achievement Division Eng Hian revealed that Ginting had suffered a cartilage injury and inflammation of the right shoulder muscle since preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
