Jakarta - Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak said the second half was the key to his team's comeback to defeat Semen Padang in the 27th week of the Indonesian League 1 at the Haji Agus Salim Stadium, Padang, Monday night.
Quoted from a release received by ANTARA, Tuesday, it explained that Persib Bandung was able to play better than Semen Padang and their players performed extraordinarily.
"Then in the second half, we tried to rise and play better. I didn't see them (Semen Padang) having enough threatening opportunities for Persib," explained Hodak.
In this match, Persib Bandung had to fall behind first due to Bruno Gomes' penalty kick goal and ended the first half trailing by one goal with a score of 0-1.
Entering the second half, Persib Bandung immediately moved quickly by making a substitution by bringing in creative midfielder Adam Alis and was able to turn things around.
Persib Bandung was able to secure a 4-1 victory thanks to goals scored by Tyronne del Pino, Adam Alis and a brace from Beckham Putra Nugraha.
"The first half of our team seemed not good, we were a bit anxious and lacked confidence when playing, actually we had many chances but I don't know in detail how Semen Padang got the penalty. Maybe because of my weak side letting Semen Padang players enter the penalty box," Hodak explained.
Thanks to this victory, Persib Bandung is increasingly solid at the top of the Indonesian League 1 standings with 57 points from 27 matches, eight points ahead of Dewa United in second place.
