Jakarta - PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk or BNI will conduct a power outage in all BNI office buildings on Saturday (22/3), at 20.30-21.30 WIB as a form of participation in the Earth Hour 2025 campaign.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday, said the blackout was carried out at BNI offices, starting from the head office, branches and credit centers, to all overseas branch offices.
According to Okki, this activity has been routinely carried out by BNI for 15 years since 2010 as an energy saving campaign for a Moment Without Light for the Sake of the Sustainability of the Universe.
"BNI's active involvement in Earth Hour every year confirms its commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon footprint," said Okki.
Energy savings can still be achieved without disrupting customer service, because all ATMs continue to function.
Customers can still easily access banking services through various available digital channels, such as BNI Mobile Banking, BNI Internet Banking, wondr by BNI and BNI ATMs as well as 24-hour call center services 1500046.
Earth Hour is a global campaign that invites people around the world to turn off unnecessary lights and electronic equipment for one hour.
Earth Hour was first initiated by WWF and Leo Burnett Sydney in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, as a response to climate change. On March 31, 2007, approximately 2.2 million residents and 2,000 businesses participated by turning off their lights for one hour.
