Jakarta - Head of the National Nutrition Agency Dadan Hindayana assessed that there is a link between the nutritional quality of Indonesian soccer players and their game performance.
"Don't be surprised if PSSI has difficulty winning because they play 90 minutes hard. Why? Because their nutrition is not good and many football players are born from villages," he said, at the Pendopo of the Ministry of Public Works, Jakarta, Saturday.
Now, the quality of Indonesian players is considered to be quite good, because around 17 people are naturalized products who have received good nutrition in their original countries of origin, such as the Netherlands.
Dadan believes that sports are not just about training, but also about intelligence in playing and reading the opponent's game.
Therefore, through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, the party hopes that babies who are still in the womb, toddlers, and elementary school to high school children can be intervened so that they have good nutrition and can become a quality productive workforce in the next 20 years.
Currently, Indonesia is said to be facing a very high population growth situation with an average birth of 6 people per minute or 3 million per year until the total number of citizens of the country reaches 280 million people. In 2045, when Indonesia celebrates 100 years of independence, the total population is estimated to reach 324 million.
One of the factors that causes population growth comes from the number of poor and vulnerable poor households.
