Cilegon - President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Persero Heru Widodo said the vehicle classification scheme is effective in overcoming traffic jams both from the road to the port in Merak and vice versa.
"Well, this is actually the key to why there is no traffic jam. Including on the highway or at the port, because there is already a division of vehicle classes," said Heru in Cilegon City, Banten, Thursday.
Heru said that the distribution of vehicles included class VII, VIII, and IX vehicles at BBJ Port.
Then two-wheeled vehicles at Ciwandan Port, and Merak Port for four-wheeled private vehicles and pedestrian passengers.
"That's what then makes everything run smoothly," said Heru.
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) recorded that 376,871 passengers crossed from Java Island to Sumatra Island from D-10 to D-5 of Eid 2025.
