Hangzhou - Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba on Thursday (13/3) released the latest version of its Quark application, a comprehensive artificial intelligence assistant technology powered by Alibaba's Qwen-based advanced reasoning model.
Quark is Alibaba’s first business application that involves direct user interaction that fully leverages its patented underlying models, marking a significant milestone in Alibaba’s strategy to integrate AI technology across its businesses.
The updated Quark brings advanced capabilities like AI chatbots, deep thinking , in-depth research, and task execution into a simple user interface. Quark aims to perform a variety of functions, from academic research, document drafting, image creation, presentations, medical diagnostics, travel planning, to problem solving.
Quark’s capabilities allow users to ask complex, branching questions and respond to follow-ups with more in-depth information about a topic directly in the search engine.“This latest version of Quark is just the beginning. As our model capabilities continue to grow, we envision Quark as a gateway to endless possibilities where users can explore anything with AI,” said Wu Jia, CEO of Quark and vice president of Alibaba Group.
In its latest earnings report, Alibaba Group said it will increase investment in three core areas of its AI strategy over the next three years: infrastructure for AI and cloud computing, development of AI base models and native applications, and integration of AI across existing businesses.
