Jakarta - The world's largest mixed martial arts promoter Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced that UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria is vacating his title to compete in another division.
"UFC CEO Dana White announced on Wednesday (2/19) night that Ilia Topuria is vacating his title. Topuria's next fight will be announced but it appears he will move up to lightweight ," MMA Fighting wrote on its official website, which was monitored in Jakarta, Friday.
White also announced that Alexander Volkanovski will face new challenger Diego Lopes for the belt in the main event of UFC 314 on April 12 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
