Los Angeles - At least two people were reported dead after two small planes collided in mid-air on Wednesday (19/2) at Marana Regional Airport in the US state of Arizona.
A Cessna 172S and a Lancair 360MK II collided on runway 12 early Wednesday morning, according to preliminary information from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Both aircraft were small, single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft, according to the Marana Police Department.
The Cessna landed safely, while the Lancair crashed into the ground near another runway, causing a post-crash fire, according to the NTSB.
The Marana Police Department is currently on scene at the airport.
