The jenang festival is held to celebrate the anniversary of the city of Solo.

Solo - The Nusantara Jenang Festival was held on Monday in the Ngarsopuro area as part of the 280th anniversary celebrations of the city of Solo in Central Java Province.

Various types of jenang are served at the festival, including sumsum jenang, black sticky rice jenang, Balinese jenang, pearl porridge, and lemu porridge.

Residents crowded the Ngarsopuro area to enjoy various jenang and watch the entertainment events held during the festival.

"Earlier, I managed to get pearl porridge. I wanted to look for black sticky rice porridge but it was sold out," said Wulandari, a Solo resident who attends the festival every year.

"Porridge is a simple food but many people like it, many people look for it. It is synonymous with Solo, simple but many people visit," he said.
