Bekasi Regency - PT Tunas Ruang Pelabuhan Nusantara (TRPN) is targeting three days to complete the dismantling of the 3.3 kilometer long sea fence that stretches across the waters of Paljaya, Segara Jaya Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, West Java.
"Earlier, the dismantling started at 10.00 WIB. It will be finished in the next three days," said PT TRPN's Legal Counsel Deolipa Yumara in Bekasi Regency, Tuesday.
He admitted that the work of dismantling the sea fence was the company's initiative as the land owner in accordance with its commitment to comply with all government regulations.
"The demolition involved a number of PT TRPN workers. We also deployed one unit of heavy equipment for this work," he said.
Deolipa stated that the object of the demolition was a row of bamboo installed in the reclamation area that had been sealed by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia.
The demolition work was carried out by removing bamboo with heavy equipment. The bamboo that was successfully removed was then thrown into the waters around the location.
The dismantling of the sea fence was also attended by the Director General of Marine Resources and Fisheries Supervision (PSDKP) Pung Nugroho Saksono or Ipunk and the Head of the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Service (DKP) of West Java Province, Hermansyah.
On that occasion, Ipunk said that his party was only tasked with supervising the company's actions in dismantling its own sea fence.
