Pertamina Regional Java provides children with safety education from an early age

Jakarta - Pertamina Upstream Regional Java educates children from an early age about responding to emergency situations, while also teaching them how to maintain their health and build healthy living habits.

"The activity also commemorates the National Occupational Health and Safety (K3) Month. In addition, the activity also seeks to change the view that children are unable to play a role in an emergency," said OHIH Regional Java Analyst Niken Dyah Pawestri in a statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday.

He highlighted the high rate of delay in treating emergency cases at home, which often results in death.

Inspired by countries that have empowered children through education, Niken and the Java Regional Health, Security, Safety and Environment (HSSE) Team strive to maximize golden time by involving children as first responders at home, when adults are not around.

"We hope to educate more of the nation's children, so that emergency conditions at home can be handled more quickly," he said.

Education is packaged in the form of interactive and interesting materials presented at exhibition booths. One of them is the self-care booth which displays information on the importance of maintaining body health through healthy and nutritious eating patterns and personal hygiene.
