Jakarta - Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that the Ministry of Manpower has prepared steps to anticipate the possibility of Termination of Employment at PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk.
Based on an official statement in Jakarta, Friday, Yassierli said that since the company was declared bankrupt in October 2024, the government has communicated intensively with the company's management, curators, workers' unions, and provincial and district/city manpower offices to ensure that workers' rights continue to be fulfilled, as well as to mitigate the possibility of layoffs.
"Since the beginning, the Ministry of Manpower has always tried and hoped that workers/laborers would continue to work, but if layoffs occur, the Ministry of Manpower will ensure that workers/laborers receive their wages, severance pay, and rights to employment social security benefits, including Old Age Security (JHT) and Job Loss Security (JKP)," said the Minister of Manpower.
Specifically related to Sritex, the Ministry of Manpower has coordinated with the Manpower and Transmigration Office of Central Java Province and the Regency/City in the Solo area and its surroundings to map out various job opportunities in companies in the Solo area and its surroundings.
"Based on the latest data, we have information that there are 10,666 job opportunities in the Solo area and its surroundings from the garment, plastic, shoe, retail, food and beverage, batik, and service industries. These job vacancies can be an alternative for all job seekers including laid-off employees," Yassierli said.
He explained that recording job vacancies throughout Indonesia is one of the Ministry of Manpower's work programs.
