Jakarta - After seven years defending the Dallas Mavericks since joining through the 2018 NBA Draft, Luka Doncic officially moved to the Los Angeles Lakers and left a farewell message to the fans of his old team.
Doncic, who is known as a Mavericks icon, delivered a touching farewell message to his fans via social media by including the hashtag #MFFL (Mavs Fan for Life).
“Seven years ago, I came here as a teenager to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the highest level. I thought I would spend my career here and wanted nothing more than to bring you guys a championship. The love and support you have given me is more than I could have ever dreamed of,” Doncic wrote.
The Slovenian player expressed how much the support from Mavericks fans meant to him during the good and bad times, including when he was injured and managed to lead the team to the NBA Finals.
“For a young kid from Slovenia coming to the U.S. for the first time, you made North Texas feel like home. Through thick and thin, from injuries to the NBA Finals, your support has never wavered. Thank you for sharing in our best moments, and for lifting me up when I needed it most,” Doncic continued.
