Jakarta - The Oil and Gas Testing Center has confirmed its commitment to periodically monitor the quality of fuel oil (BBM) to maintain the consistency of BBM quality at various public fuel filling stations .
"We understand the importance of transparency in fuel supervision. We convey the results of this test so that the public is confident that the fuel they use has met the standards set by the government," said Lemigas Head Mustafid Gunawan in Jakarta, Friday.
He made the statement after announcing that all samples of gasoline fuel that were tested met the specifications set by the government.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources took fuel samples on Thursday, February 27, 2025. A total of 75 gasoline samples with various octane numbers (RON 90, RON 92, RON 95, and RON 98) were collected from 1 TBBM Pertamina Plumpang and 33 gas stations in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and South Tangerang.
One of the samplings was carried out together with Commission XII in a surprise inspection at the Shell gas station and Pertamina Cibubur gas station, East Jakarta, Thursday (27/2). The inspection was led by Deputy Chairman of Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives Bambang Haryadi.
"The results of the Lemigas laboratory tests show that all the fuel samples examined are within the required quality limits said Mustafid.
On the same occasion, Acting Director of Downstream Oil and Gas Business Development Mirza Mahendra said that supervision of fuel quality is part of the mandate of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 48 of 2005, which stipulates that the Directorate General of Oil and Gas is responsible for fostering and supervising the standards and quality of fuel marketed domestically.
As a form of implementing these regulations, the Directorate General of Oil and Gas periodically takes fuel samples to ensure that its quality is maintained according to applicable standards.
