Jakarta - Clinical psychologist Dr. Kimberly Chew said that as we get older, the brain becomes slower to absorb new information which changes the perception of time.
This makes time feel faster as we get older because of the decrease in new experiences or “firsts” that involve emotions, such as the first day of school, the first day abroad and so on.
"That's why the first ten years of childhood often feel slower and more memorable. These moments stand out because they are new and involve emotions," he said as quoted from the Channel News Asia page, Sunday (9/2).
“Many of us also get used to routines, when life becomes routine, our days start to blend together, making time feel less clear and more like it’s just passing by,” he added.
