Hangtuah's victory tarnished by Adewunmi's playing ban

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Hangtuah Jakarta's 73-70 victory over Kesatria Bengawan Solo was tarnished by a ban on guard Samuel Adewunmi who committed a disqualifying foul in the match in the fifth week of the 2025 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) at Sritex Arena Solo, Saturday.

On the IBL page quoted by ANTARA in Jakarta, the 26-year-old foreign basketball player from the United States (US) was given a punishment or ban from playing in three matches that Hangtuah will play in the future.

This means that during February, the 1.94 meter tall player will not be able to play for the team coached by Wahyu Widayat Jati.

The match between the Knights and Hangtuah was led by Crew Chief Rendra Lesmana, assisted by Ali Romadani and Prima Rizki.

As he fell, Samuel Adewunmi swung his arm at Abraham Wenas' upper body and the referee decided an Unsportsmanlike Foul of C1 criteria for the guard .

Then, Kesatria Bengawan Solo Head Coach Efri Meldi filed a Head Coach Challenge (HCC) to ascertain the possibility of Act of Violence in the melee. The request was granted by the referee.
