Situbondo - Farmers' associations in Situbondo Regency, East Java, are preparing the requirements that must be met to become distributors of government subsidized fertilizer directly to farmers.The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) has cut the distribution chain of subsidized fertilizer directly to each farmer association (Gapoktan) from previously through distributors and fertilizer kiosks."As of today, farmer associations spread across 135 villages/sub-districts are still preparing the requirements related to permits and initial capital in bank accounts including NPWP," said Head of Extension for the Agriculture and Food Security Service (Dispertan) of Situbondo Regency, Muhammad Zaini in Situbondo, Saturday.He said that the majority of farmer associations had completed permits and initial capital in bank accounts as required, which was IDR 50 million to IDR 100 million.However, Zaini continued, so far not a single farmer association has provided the mandatory infrastructure, namely a warehouse to store subsidized fertilizer.
