Jakarta - Indonesian ice skating athlete Dwiki Eka Ramadhan made his role as flag bearer at the opening of the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games in China as additional motivation to face the competition.
"Of course I feel very happy. I think it will be magical. I am the one holding the Red and White flag representing millions of Indonesians. I am very proud. Just make sure everything goes well , whatever is directed I will follow," said Dwiki Eka Ramadhan in a written statement from the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) received in Jakarta, Friday.
He said that his role as a flag bearer was one of the biggest moments in his career as an athlete representing the Indonesian team at an international multi-sport event.
The event in Harbin will be Dwiki's second appearance at the Asian Winter Games. Previously, he also appeared at the 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games which was the debut of the Indonesian team in the largest winter multi-sport in Asia.
The 27-year-old athlete said the role added to his and the team's motivation to be able to give their best in the competition which took place on February 7-14.
"I have an honor to represent Indonesia as the bearer of the Red and White flag at the Asian multi-sport event ," he said.
The opening ceremony of the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games will be held at the Harbin International Convention Exhibition and Sports Center on Friday (7/2) local time.
