Doctor: Cancer hotline vital to support healing spirit

Jakarta - Pediatrician at Cicendo Eye Hospital (RS) Anne Susanty highlighted the importance of providing a hotline to help cancer sufferers or their parents and guardians in undergoing or accompanying the therapy and treatment process.

"Because they are more often confused. So the confusion is because their child is already grown up, then the disease is severe, so sometimes they find something in their child and don't know what to do," said Anne in a broadcast by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) themed "Chemotherapy for Retinoblastoma" in Jakarta, Tuesday.

He added that this was a form of facilitation from the hospital for parents who were confused in dealing with cancer in their children. In addition, he continued, communication from the hospital and the community was needed so that patients and their guardians would not be lost or stop treatment.
