Digital ecosystem needs parental literacy to create safe AI for children

Jakarta - Digital Culture and Communication Observer from the University of Indonesia, Firman Kurniawan, said that stakeholders in the digital ecosystem, from the government to platforms, need to actively educate parents in Indonesia to create safe use of Artificial Intelligence for children.

Firman said that currently there are many deviations that target children by misusing AI and resulting in harm and this can happen due to the lack of parental guidance for children.

"Parents must know exactly that all deviations involving AI in children rely on data misuse. Unfortunately, many parents do not understand data security. This is where the role of the government, platforms, and related institutions is to provide systematic counseling," he told ANTARA, Friday.
