Jakarta - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) recorded a gold transaction volume through the "Gold Investment" feature on the BRImo super app of IDR 279.8 billion since the feature was launched in February 2024 to December 2024.
Looking at the future prospects, saidBRI Retail Funding & Distribution Director Andrijanto in his official statement in Jakarta, Friday, the target is to grow gold transactions in the BRImo super app by 85 percent year-on-year (yoy) in 2025.
"Gold has a natural hedging property that can protect asset value from inflation and market fluctuations. With the presence of the Gold Investment feature in the BRImo super app , BRI presents an investment solution that is more accessible and secure," he said.
This initiative is in line with BRI's commitment to improving financial literacy and expanding the reach of digital services for the community.
According to BRI, gold investment through BRImo attracts various segments of society, especially the millennial generation who have an average of 17 percent of their investment portfolio in the form of gold, followed by generation X and baby boomers with 10 percent each.
The Gold Investment feature is designed to make it easier for users to invest in gold digitally. Through this feature, users can start investing in gold with affordable amounts starting from IDR 10,000.
This feature also offers other conveniences, starting from purchasing 0.01 grams of gold, real-time buying and selling transactions with Pegadaian, to accessing information on gold buying and selling prices that are always updated on the investment dashboard .
In addition, there is also an auto-debit feature and real-time gold price monitoring , making it easier for users to optimize their investments.
