Jakarta - The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has revealed two new methods for distributing dangerous and illegal cosmetics without distribution permits, which have been marketed by perpetrators via social media and online.
"There are products that have a distribution permit number written on them, but it is not the one issued by BPOM, it is not the factory that makes them, but another factory whose cosmetic products are imitated, then they are distributed en masse," said Head of BPOM Taruna Ikrar in a press conference at the BPOM Office, Jakarta, Friday.
Taruna continued, the second mode is to deceive consumers using blue labels. Most of the illegal products (60 percent) are dominated by imported products.
