Jakarta - Argentina's national futsal team coach Matias Lucuix said his team had seen improvements in performance from three matches in the 2025 4 Nations World Series futsal tournament after ending the tournament as champions.
Argentina got this result after they drew 1-1 against Japan at the Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, Sunday.
This draw made the 2024 Futsal World Cup finalists an undefeated team in this tournament after previously recording two wins over Saudi Arabia (8-7) and Indonesia (4-2).
"Today we played very well, dominated the game and created a lot of chances. We should have scored more goals, but we failed to take them. However, we are very happy with the progress we have made," Lucuix said at his post-match press conference on Sunday.
Argentina goalkeeper Nicolas Sarmiento believes that the 2025 Indonesia Futsal 4 Nations World Series tournament is a very good tournament because it provides an opportunity for his team's new players to prove themselves.
"Now is the moment for the new players to show their abilities, win a place in the national team and represent their country. I think we have done a great job," Sarmiento said.
