Jakarta - American e-commerce platform Amazon will close its app store for Android starting August 20, 2025.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Friday, Amazon said that the company will also remove the digital currency Coins used to buy games and applications in its application store.
"Starting August 20, 2025, you will no longer have access to the Amazon Appstore on your Android devices. We will also be discontinuing the Amazon Coins program on August 20, 2025," Amazon said.
Amazon said it would refund any Coins users still have on their devices by August 20. The company added that only a small percentage of customers use the app store outside of Amazon devices.
