Investigators hand over disabled suspect Agus to public prosecutor

 Mataram - West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police investigators have handed over a physically disabled sexual harassment suspect with the initials IWAS alias Agus to the public prosecutor.

"Today, January 9, 2024, we have agreed to carry out the handover," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the NTB Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Syarif in Mataram, Thursday.

Investigators handed over the IWAS suspect to the public prosecutor along with all evidence. Syarif ensured that this handover was a follow-up to the prosecutor's research which stated that Agus' case file was complete on January 7, 2025.

"On January 7, we received a notification letter from the NTB High Prosecutor's Office that the investigation process had been completed and complete, and this submission was the follow-up," he said.

The prosecutor stated that Agus' case file had fulfilled the criminal charges applied by investigators, namely Article 6 letter A and/or letter C in conjunction with Article 15 paragraph (1) letter E of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence with a threat of 12 years in prison.

Syarif ensured that in completing the case files, investigators had included statements from 14 witnesses, both from victim witnesses and criminal and psychology experts.
